NY Novas Compete At Colgate Women’s Games
On Saturday, in Mid-School Division (sixth-eighth grade), Jacqueline Saunders finished the 400-meter dash with 1:14.06. She showed consistency and strong sprint in this race and came in first place in her heat. Saunders also ran the 800-meter race, reached the finish line in fourth place in her heat with the time of 3:36.43.
In the College/Open Division, Amelia Prince finished her 200-meter dash with 31.5 and came in third in her heat. In the 30’s Plus Division, Mitsuko Washington competed in the 1500-meter run with the time of 6:45.2.
Sunday was the Elementary School Division, where young Novas’ girls Keeaira Saunders, Victoria Prince, Ledgm Washington and Jade Smith all competed in the 55-meter dash. Saunders was bumped by another runner right after the start but finished in 10.6 seconds.
Washington and Prince raced side by side and finished side by side with the time 10.84-Ledgm and 11.09-Victoria. Saunders and Smith also ran in the 200-meter dash. Smith completed the race in 38.51 and came in first place in her heat. Saunders came to the finish line in 40.73. One more weekend is left in the Colgate Women’s Games.
