JASA Knits Caps For Newborns
JASA Roy Reuther Senior Center members knitted and crocheted tiny hats for Save the Children/ Caps for Good. This is part of Warm Up America. The senior center members made approximately 40 caps. Individual letters are being sent to President Obama telling him about the project, and are signed by each crafter who made some of the caps. All the handmade baby caps will be sent to Africa, Asia and Latin America by the Caps for Good Program. The caps will be distributed to a new mother and her baby through Save The Children’s newborn health programs.
The seniors feel such a sense of joy and accomplishment in helping others. They continue to make the caps. They cannot stop!!!!! The knitting and crocheting club meets Thursdays from 2-3 p.m. at Roy Reuther Senior Center. Please call 718-471-3110 if you would like to participate or learn to knit or crochet.
