Simon To Meet Press On BCHS

Democratic District Leader Lew Simon has announced that supporters of Beach Channel High School will meet with print and electronic reporters on Thursday, January 20 at 2:30 p.m. sharp on the patio in front of the school.

“Parents, students, teachers and community leaders are expected to demand that the Department of Education restore the programs that made BCHS one of the finest in the city,” said a spokesperson. The Department of Education has plans to close BCHS. The Education Department has not announced any plan to provide a high school education for all qualified local students.

Programs like cooking, finance, law, information technology, theatre arts oceanography, marine biology and auto repair that were formerly available at BCHS are no longer being offered.
