Snow Dispute Leads To Arrests

By Nicholas Briano

A Far Rockaway duo got into a physical altercation while shoveling snow outside their home and each blamed the other for the incident that led to both their arrests, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

Michelle Summers, 48, got into an argument with Arthur Kindle, 44, outside their building near Grassmere Terrace last Tuesday around 12 noon. Summers allegedly grabbed a knife she was using to chop the ice and waved it at Kindle. Less than an hour later the argument picked up again but this time Kindle was on the attack. He allegedly used his shovel to smack Summers in the wrist causing lacerations and swelling.

Police responded to the call in which both of them attempted to put blame on the other for the incident. As a result, they were both arrested and charged with harassment. Kindle however, was also charged with third degree assault for allegedly using the shovel to hit Summers. Each defendant was released on his/her own recognizance and is due back in court later this month.
