Greater NY Stars Play International Competition

On Monday, January 3, The Greater New York Stars hockey organization welcomed Team HIFK from Helsinki, Finland. Team HIFK had just returned from a successful tournament in Ontario, Canada and wanted to play the Stars, the top PeeWee team in the New York City area, before their return to Finland. The Stars team, led by Rockaway’s own George Clark, Matty Erhard, Brian Ostrander, Tom Laible and Chris Moore, battled against a very tough and well coached Finland team. Despite goals from Clark and Ostrander the home team lost 4-2. It was a great opportunity for the boys to play against and meet players from another country, who share the same love for the game of hockey.
