The Inner Voice

Commentary by Marilyn Gelfand

Have you ever felt that someone you loved who has died came back to give you a sign because you heard or saw something that was so tied in to your memory of that person? On the other hand, sometimes we ask for a person to visit us and we get nothing. For spiritual thinking people, the idea is that the soul of a person never dies but does change its form. On Earth, the young child grows into the old person as the same being, but the body has changed. Inside, the person is still the same. After death, the body is worn out, but the soul can continue to learn and grow differently.

In dreams we may have a meeting with a deceased person. We have an opportunity to connect when it is convenient and timely for both souls. When we are awake, we can get chills or experience something that we know is that person. There may be a reason for the connection, but it is often not because you want to see someone now. Often unbidden, there it is. We can get strength in the knowledge that life continues after death, and that we are never alone. Our feelings of love may transcend time and space.

Have patience if you miss someone. When you aren’t thinking about it, someone will just be there. Pay attention and believe your own instincts. We know we are all connected in our energy as separate puzzle pieces of a whole picture, and when it is time accept what your senses experience.

Wishing you a fulfilling and peaceful 2011 filled with richness and laughter.
