Aviators In OT Loss To Akwesasne
An Aviator defensive breakdown in the neutral zone allowed the league’s top scorer, Pierre Dagenais, and Van Hoof to break in on a 2-on-1 rush. Dagenais slid it over to Van Hoof on the far side, which was then put home on the one-timer for Van Hoof’s first FHL goal of the year.
New York, though, broke the game open scoring just a minute into the second period, as John Goffredo tallied his 13th marker of the season. The Warriors, however, tied it up 8:46 later on Kyle Legace’s seventh goal on the campaign.
The final frame saw no goals go up on the scoreboard, even though New York threw 11 shots on Akwesasne goaltender David Plouffe.
A’s goalie Kevin Druce falls to 7-7-2 in the losing effort, despite stopping 22 shots. Plouffe gains his 10th win of the year, after putting aside 38 Aviator tries. New York falls to 10-10-2 on the year, while the Warriors move to 17-6-0.
