Thanks For Finding My Pocketbook

Dear Editor,

This letter is really addressed to an authentic angel of this holiday season – and, really, all seasons. I had occasion to stop at the new Stop &Shop supermarket in Arverne late afternoon yesterday, December 6. My friend and I checked out with our items, put them in the trunk of her car and proceeded home. Upon arriving home, I found that I did not have my pocketbook. Horrified, we returned to the market and diligently searched for my purse. Not finding it, we went to the service desk and, sure enough, some dear soul returned it “FULLY INTACT! Somehow, all we hear about lately seems to be the worst of the human race. It takes something like this to renew our faith in humanity. I cannot express my appreciation and thanks for this wonderful act. I do hope that whoever turned in my pocketbook enjoys the best of the holidays, and a wonderful, successful and joyous New Year. Like the saying goes, “may the blessings be.”
