SFDS Celebrates The Christmas Holiday

On Wednesday, December 15 and Thursday, December 16 evening, if you were anywhere near Beach 129 Street in Rockaway you could hear the angelic voices of the students at St. Francis de Sales school.

Just as every family has special holiday traditions, the St. Francis de Sales school community celebrated their annual Christmas tradition with their Christmas concert and Nativity play.

As usual they did not disappoint. The sold out gymnasium was entertained with classic favorites such as “Silent Night,” “The First Noel,” and “O Come All Ye Faithful,” as well as some modern day Christmas rap. As usual the adorable kindergarteners got the show off to a wonderful start and the first and third grades took part in the Nativity play. “What a wonderful opportunity to remind young and old alike the true meaning of Christmas, the celebration of the birth of Christ,” said a spokesperson. The concert ended with the entire student body filling the gym with their booming voices singing “Joy to the World.” What a festive and fun evening for all.

“Merry Christmas from the students and staff of St. Francis,” the spokesperson said. “May the birth of Jesus bring peace and love to you this holiday season and throughout the New Year.”
