Sibling Dispute Leads To Arverne Fire
An Arverne teenager was arrested last week for allegedly starting a fire in his home by throwing floor cleaner and a pile of clothes onto the top of a lit stove after arguing with his sister, according to court papers.
Shawtaine Goodluck, 18, was in his home near Beach 69 Street with his 15-year-old sister when the fire occurred at around 11:30 p.m. on November 27. Firefighters reported to the home and contained the small fire without any injuries to responders or the two residents.
Goodluck was arraigned and charged with first degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. He was released without bail and is due back in Queens Criminal Court on January 4.
