Players Take Part In Annual Friendship Soccer Tournament

Eighty soccer players recently took part in the second annual Friendship Soccer Tournament held on Saturday, November 20 at Fort Tilden. The tournament was designed for a specific goal in mind; to have the 8th grade boys and girls from 10 different Queens CYO parishes to become acquainted before entering high school. The players were divided up into 6 teams with a separate boys and girls division. Their opponents of 8 years are now their teammates. Shirts were given to all who participated. There were no medals at the end but what was awarded were new friendships. It was a great experience for the players but most of all a fun day of soccer.
