Little North Pole Lighting Thrills Hundreds

Hundreds turned out last Saturday night for the annual lighting of the Little North Pole in Neponsit on Beach 144 Street. The highlight of the evening was the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus who gave out toys to every child in the crowd. The holiday display at the home of Joseph and Maritza Mure is a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and, in Joe Mure’s words, “to put a smile on children’s faces and give them a memory that will last a lifetime.” For more photos, see pages 58 and 59.
