St. Francis De Sales Bakes Cookies For Cancer

St. Francis de Sales School and members of the Maura Clark National Junior Honor Society held a “Cookies for Kids Cancer” bake sale on November 19. The parents and students of St. Francis showed their giving spirit once again by donating 3,000 cookies. Other parents and local businesses helped support the cause by supplying the school with monetary donations and raffles. Students and teachers involved in the bake sale wrapped and packaged the 3,000 cookies and then sold them in school. The students raised $1,845.00, which will be matched by GLAD Company for a total of $3,690.00 going directly to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Pediatric Research to fight the battle against pediatric cancer. St. Francis of Assisi said, “For it is in giving that we receive.”
