Clark Named To NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team

The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has recetnly announced its 2010 Fall All- Academic selections and 47 Connecticut College student-athletes have been named to the squad.

Belle Harbor native Candice Clark, a defensive standout and co-captain for the women’s soccer team, earned a spot on the All-Academic team. Joining Clark on the squad were senior teammates Chelsea Johnson of Portland, Maine and Emily Webb of Newport Coast, California.

To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.

Fran Shields, the Katherine Wenk Christoffers ‘45 Director of Athletics and chair of Physical Education, was impressed with the academic performance of the Camel student athletes.

“We are very proud of the accomplishments of our student athletes,” Shields said. “On the field and in the classroom.

It was a successful season for our programs.”
