Local Thug Fires Shots At Inwood Home

By Nicholas Briano
An Ocean Bay resident with a score to settle was arrested by Nassau County Police for allegedly firing gunshots at an Inwood home two weeks ago.

Naiquan Tolliver, 26, allegedly approached the Mott Avenue home on a bicycle at approximately 12:35 p.m. on November 20 and began to scream outside the property at someone he thought was inside.

“I’m gonna burn you! Bring your punk ass outside,” Tolliver said according to one of the victims.

A resident of the house told police that Tolliver was directing his anger towards her nephew and shortly thereafter she heard the gunshots ring outside of her home. No one was injured and the shots missed the house.

Nassau County Police located and arrested Tolliver somewhere along Sheridan Boulevard at 4:30 p.m. last Wednesday. Based on shell casings found outside the home after the incident, police believe the shooter used a .25 caliber handgun which hasn’t been recovered.

Tolliver was arraigned in Hempstead First District Court on charges that include four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and one count each of reckless endangerment and criminal use of a weapon.

Tolliver, however, is no stranger to police. At age 16 he was arrested for allegedly shooting a woman in the neck and again three years ago when police suspected he supplied a handgun to a friend who used it to kill a Far Rockaway teenager in Inwood. Both cases, however, were dismissed. According to the Queens District Attorney he has five arrests on record and was convicted for four misdemeanors.
