Jewish Association for Services to the Aged Joins Fight Against Hunger
JASA Roy Reuther Senior Center began a Hunger Drive on Tuesday November 23. The center has partnered with AARP. The kickoff for the food drive was purposely planned for the week of Thanksgiving to highlight hunger in our community and around the country. Members of the senior center brought canned goods for two weeks even though the kickoff was on Tuesday. AARP is picking up the canned goods and dispensing them to those in need. The Center also combined the hunger drive with a coat drive. “We have gotten many coats and jackets which will also be distributed in the community,” said a spokesperson.
