DOT will be present on December 13 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 333 Beach 90 Street. Children and adults can be fitted for a free bike helmet and take advantage of free bicycle etching by 100 Precinct police officers. The etching helps locate and return a stolen or lost bicycle to its rightful owner in the event of recovery by the police.

Participants must be present to receive the helmet and sign a waiver. Children under age 18 receiving a bike helmet must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and co-sign the waiver as well.

The bike helmet distribution is part of the New York City GET FIT-TED campaign to raise consumer awareness by promoting safety for bicyclists in all five boroughs.
