Teen Shot, Man Stabbed In Weekend Violence
The first incident occurred on Saturday evening when an unidentified man returned to his apartment at 10-12 Nameoke Street at about 4:50 p.m. His wife noticed that he was bleeding and called an ambulance.
EMT workers found that the man, 41, had been stabbed in the lower back.
He was transported to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where he was treated and released. The unidentified man told police that he had no idea where he had been stabbed, and declined to say where he had been.
In the second incident that day, police responding to a call of a man shot in front of 57-10 Beach Channel Drive, in the Ocean Bay Houses, found two spent shell casings at that location, but no victim. Upon checking local hospitals, at the Peninsula Hospital Center on Beach 51 Street, they found an unidentified 15-year-old teen who had been shot once in the left shoulder.
He had walked to the hospital after being shot. The youth told police that he was walking in front of the building when he heard the shot and felt the bullet strike his shoulder.
He said that he had not seen his unknown assailant and had no idea why anybody would want to shoot at him. The teen was treated and released from PHC. No suspects have been named in either incident. Detectives from the 101 Squad are investigating. Anybody with information on either incident should call the detective squad at 718-868-3429.
