BCAC Pee Wee Shamrocks Display Great Effort In Defeat

The Broad Channel Pee Wee Shamrocks closed out their regular season with another great effort on a cold brisk Sunday morning. The Shamrocks offense led by the power running game of Chris Kollmer and Nick Rogers moved the ball well in the first half, but were unable to score against the “Bend but Don’t Break” defense of Rosedale. Key blocks were made by BCAC’s Aaron Silva, Robert Clark, Nico Finzio and Liam Doda on the line.

On defense, Ryan Hanning, Jack Tansey, Damian Stathis and Ryan Ehret made some instrumental tackles throughout the game. The defensive line made up of Mike Boyle, Anthony Fiorey, David McCrachen and Mike Pierro shut down the inside running game of Rosedale a number of times. The Shamrocks had great spark from their bench with the likes of Joe Kazmuchuk, Vincent Nizzo and Kevin Lavoun.

Matty McDonagh played another solid game at quarterback/running back. With time running out, the Shamrocks Mike Butkiewics fell just short of getting into the end zone and on the last play of the game, Nicky Meehan ran the ball in on a quarterback keeper for a Shamrock touchdown.Giancarlo Conti had another superb game.

Although it was another loss for the Shamrocks, the coaches could not have been prouder as they have seen such improvement in the boys from the beginning of the season. Hopefully the team will be able to make some noise in the postseason.
