Dayton Beach Park Doom

Dear Editor,

Just when I thought everything had finally calmed down here at Dayton Beach Park, I get a notice under my door from Stephen Wohl claiming doom and gloom is right around the corner. I’ve been here for 21 years in Dayton Beach Park. I know that some shenanigans were going on from time to time, but everything always seems to get straightened out. The lights are still on, we get excellent heat in the winter and the buildings have been completely rebuilt inside and out. Nice new laundry rooms, vending machines, we didn’t have our pools this past summer but you could always fill your bathtub with cold water.

I suppose if things really get bad we could start a tea party movement. March around the property with signs that proclaim, “Throw the bums out!” Mr. Wohl claims Dayton Towers has no such problems. I guess he was unaware of the street leak on Beach 105 Street a few weeks back. DEP shut off the water, then LIPA turned off the power. I heard some residents sneak out in the middle of the night and shower on the boardwalk. As far as Mr. Wohl’s other remarks concerning the new houses that have sprouted on every empty piece of land, I’’m in a new line of work and am not hearing good things about some of the places being built. I guess time will tell.

JASON MURRAY
