Weiner: Turner Pro-Outsourcing
On Monday, Congressman Anthony Weiner said that the prooutsourcing position of Bob Turner, whom he considers to be a right-wing extremist, puts the middle class residents of Brooklyn and Queens at risk. According to a Weiner campaign spokesperson, Republican Turner has pledged to support tax breaks for companies who outsource, all while claiming he wants to create jobs.
“Anyone who thinks that outsourcing American jobs overseas is the answer to our economic woes doesn’t understand the needs of residents in Brooklyn and Queens,” said the spokesman. “The middle class residents of Brooklyn and Queens deserve an explanation from Turner on why he thinks good jobs are better off in Shanghai not Sheepshead Bay and Mumbai rather than Maspeth.”
The spokesperson continued, “Recently Bob Turner signed a pledge from the right wing group Americans for Tax Reform, a group that supports tax loopholes for companies that outsource American jobs. Given Turner’s pledge of support to oppose all tax increases and any attempts to eliminate deductions or credits, he would oppose H.R.5893, The Investing in American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act of 2010. The bill, supported by Congressman Weiner, would remove tax incentives for companies who outsource jobs.”
“Middle class residents of Brooklyn and Queens deserve better, they need someone who will fight to keep American jobs, not jump at the opportunity to shed them,” Weiner said.
