Stop & Shop And 100 PCT Teach Halloween Safety

Students from St. Rose of Lima Church in Rockaway Beach headed over to the new Stop & Shop yesterday for a Halloween safety lesson from police officers of the 100 Precinct.

Students from the eighth grade were taught not to go out alone, not to cut through back alleys and to stay in well populated areas. They were also informed by community affairs officers to never go into a stranger’s house under any circumstances and to be careful crossing the street as statistics indicate more automobile accidents occur with pedestrians on Halloween.

Police also warned the students about the consequences of vandalism that includes throwing eggs at homes, buses or cars.
