Dismantling Of O’Donohue Park Begins

Less than two weeks after Mayor Bloomberg took part in a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Far Rockaway Park East that includes O’Donohue Park and the adjoining parking lot, work began earlier this week to prepare for the reconstruction and extension of the park.

Wow! O, Donohue field I

Wow! O, Donohue field I remember playing baseball there in the 70's. Mel who ran the PAL in the old movie theater in Far Rockaway ran the whole shebang. Mel (who worked for the post office) would spend umpteen hours making sure that every kid that came along learned how to bat, catch, and learn the rules of baseball and how to play and have fun. Mel where ever you are. Thanks
