Weiner Is A Desperate Liar

Dear Editor,

Bob Turner, Republican candidate for Congress in New York’s 9th CD, has called incumbent Anthony Weiner a “desperate liar” for his recent accusations that Turner wants to cut social security and aid to Israel.

In an interview appearing in the Queens Gazette on Oct. 6, Weiner is quoted as saying that Turner would like to cut aid to Israel and slash social security by 15% each.

Turner responded,

“Based on what I have seen from him thus far, it is no surprise to me that Anthony Weiner would make completely false statements about my positions.

This is another example of how desperate he is to hold onto his seat. To resort to lying shows that he knows he is on the wrong side of the real issues facing our country and the people of the 9th district. Anthony Weiner needs to account for his support of President Obama’s job-killing agenda and his own role in the health care bill, which Weiner claims to have written.

The reason I am running is to replace an out-of-touch liar and career politician, and bring some business sensibility and ethics back to Washington.”

In calling out Weiner for making false accusations, Turner also cited the Weiner campaign’s recent negative push-poll in which they tested numerous false and inflammatory statements relating to Turner.

“Weiner is terrified about losing this election,” Turner said. “He cannot run on the issues because he is so out of step with his constituents, and so instead he is resorting to the career politician’s playbook in trying to smear me.” “Turner has lived his entire life in the neighborhoods of the 9th District. He was raised in Woodhaven as the eldest of three sons, and raised his own family in Richmond Hill. He now resides in Rockaway Point.

He spent 40 years of his career in the highly competitive television industry. His first job was as a clerk for ABC-TV, launching a rewarding career in broadcasting, advertising, TV program production and distribution. As President, CEO or Chairman, Turner has started up and managed companies large and small. While his family life was centered on the Ninth District, Turner’s career took him around the globe as he conducted business and formed programming partnerships in places from Tbilisi to Delhi, Manila to Moscow. He is a U.S. Army veteran (1962-64, Rank SP5, Honorable Discharge).
