BCAC Senior Shamrocks Defeated By Brentwood

The Broad Channel Senior Shamrocks suffered their first loss last week in a hard fought defensive game with Brentwood.

The Shamrocks welcomed back center Steve Ambrosino from injury for his first game of the season with injured defensive end Tim Panetta supporting the team from the sideline.

Quarterback Andrew Conklin and offensive lineman Branden Dell, Elijah Dorta, James Marotta and Devon Rodriguez pushed hard to get the offense going but Brentwood would give up little ground. The Shamrocks put up a tough defense of their own behind Bryen Collado, Kevin Doherty, Vincent Finizio, Jeremiah Jones, Tom Kelly, James Lee, Chris Manfre, Marco Minichino, Julian Verni, Zach Warner and Paul Yodice. Both teams went into halftime scoreless.

In the second half the Shamrocks tested Brentwood with a air and ground attack that saw them move the ball, unfortunately this game would come down to the team that could open a big play. Brentwood would score on forty yard runs in the third and fourth quarter for a 12-0 Shamrock loss.

The next game home game for the Shamrocks will be at Memorial Field on Saturday, October 2, at 7:30 p.m. against Rosedale.
