Scholars Girls Volleyball Team Looking To Repeat Success

The Scholars’ Academy High School Girls Varsity Volleyball team are ready to continue surprising not only themselves, but their community as well.

Scholars have started the season well with a 25- 6, 25-14 victory over Beach Channel/Channel View on Wednesday. Senior Rebecca Moers had 11 service points and six assists to lead the Seawolves. Nicole Glaz also recorded five service points and four aces.

The girls on the volleyball team are entering the season with ten returning players and the addition of seven new ones. The team is comprised of six seniors, six juniors, 4 sophomores and 1 freshman. The returning players are looking forward to continuing their journey to reach their full potential, while the newer players are anxious to take part in the great legacy created last year.

The girls almost made it to the New York City PSAL B Championship last November before Scholars were defeated in the semi-final match by John Adams. Scholars coach Kerri Hubbard is looking forward to a successful season and watching her girls give their all each and every practice. This season the girls are more focused and determined than ever before to reach great heights. They are ready to give it all they have to make their dreams come true.
