BCAC Pee Wees Tie Titans In Thrilling Game

The BCAC Pee Wee Shamrock team ventured out to Farmingdale to take on the Titans this past Sunday for their second game of the season. Teammate Robert Clark, suffering from asthma but unwilling to miss the game, rooted his team on from the bench.

The Titans came out strong scoring two touchdowns in the first half. Down by 13 points at the half, the Pee Wees went to the sidelines for their half-time oranges, which seemed to ignite the boys. With Matty McDonagh and Nicholas Rogers taking charge, the powerhouse BCAC defense, made up of Ben Houck, Vincent Powell, Ryan Hanning, Anthony Fiorey, Jack Tansey and Juan Cuglietta at safety, came out on a mission. The Shamrocks stopped the Titans over and over.

With the defense stomping on the Titans, it was up to the offense to put some points on the board. Center Liam Doda snapped the ball so well that New York Jets center Nick Mangold would be proud. He led the way for a rushing attack by the offensive line made up of Nico Finzio, Aaron Silva, Chris Kollmer, Michael Pierro and Giancarlo Conti. As the crowd cheered the Shamrocks on from the sidelines, running back Nicky Meehan ran in the Shamrock’s first touchdown of the season.

The defensive line, made up of David McCrachen, Michael Boyle, Vincent Nizzo, and Kevin Lavoun, came back out eager to pounce on the Titans again. Assisted by his defensive brethren, Damian Stathis plowed into their offense, causing a fumble, which was recovered by teammate Nicky Meehan. BCAC was able to tie the game at 13 when Meehan ran for a touchdown.

The Titans came out looking to score the winning touchdown, but the Pee Wee powerhouse defense wasn’t having it. They made a final goal line stand, ending the game in a tie.
