Yeshiva Thugs: ‘Jews Have Money’
The two still-unidentified men, using the pretext that their car had broken down and they wanted to call the Triple-A, terrorized and robbed the students of Yeshiva Zichron Aryeh at gunpoint and fled in a car belonging to one of the students.
According to police sources, the two men came to the door of the dormitory at 24-15 Mott Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. on September 15.
When Yisrooel Sterns, 19, one of the students, opened the door, he was immediately faced with a handgun and told to take the two thugs into the house.
“You guys are a bunch of Jewish kids. Where is everything,” one of them said, according to Sterns.
Then they woke up the other students and ransacked the house.
“They were in there for 10 to 15 minutes, anything they could grab, they took,” stu- dent Yossi Rosenbluth told Channel 2 News reporter Pablo Guzman. “They weren’t very organized. They asked us for bags to take the stuff in.”
Police say that the two got a laptop computer, a number of cell phones, other electronic devices and about $300 in cash.
The two thieves then grabbed a set of car keys from a night table and forced the owner of the car to go outside and make sure the car started.
They then put all of the students onto the porch and warned them that if they called the police, the two would come back and kill them.
Before they left, police say, one of the thugs said, “I have nothing against you guys. I’m religious, too. I’m Muslim.”
