Winning Shamrocks Seniors Pour On The Points

The Broad Channel Shamrock Senior Football Team opened their 2010 season with a win against Levittown. The Shamrock offense would quickly put up six points on a thirty yard run by Paul Yodice. Led by quarterback Andrew Conklin, the offense consisted of Brandon Dell, Kevin Dougherty, Elijah Dorta, Jeremiah Jones, Bryen Collado, James Lee, Tim Panetta, Chris Manfre and Tom Kelly.

The defense contributed 18 points to the game on strips and runbacks by Tom Kelly, Chris Manfre and Marco Minichino. Levittown was held scoreless for three quarters. Contributing to this effort were James Marotta, Devon Rodriguez, Julian Verni, Zack Warner, Vincent Finizio and Brendon Wood.

Levittown would score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter but Broad Channel would answer quickly on a 70- yard kick return by Chris Manfre and a 50-yard run by Tom Kelly for a 37-14 final. Injured center Stephen Ambrosino was on the sideline to support his team as they wait for his return in two weeks. Next game for the Shamrocks will be at BCAC Memorial Field on Saturday at 8 p.m.
