Broad Channel Labor Day Parade Drew Large Crowds

The annual Broad Channel Labor Day Parade stepped off under clear and sunny skies on Monday, drawing a record crowd of both parade-watchers and marchers. As in the past few years, the focus of this year’s parade was kids and American Flags.

As always, the parade stepped off from the Broad Channel Community Park and moved northbound on Cross Bay Boulevard, turning southbound again at the community’s boundary.

Participating in the parade this election year were candidates for various local races, including Dr. Harold Paez and State Senator Shirley Huntley.

One Broad Channel official declared this year’s parade “the best Labor Day Parade ever.”
