The vacation bible school program at First Congregational Church of Rockaway Beach concluded for the summer last week, with a community service planting project and a field excursion by children and their parents to Dicosmo’s Ices on Beach 96 Street.

The program, under the direction of Rebekkah Rodriguez-Thompson, focused on early literacy and numeracy development, supplemented with creative arts and active play opportunities and neighborhood walks, for ages 3-5. The program was offered to the community free of charge, thanks to financial contributions from the church, and by those who donated their time and talents, including church members Rodriguez Thompson, Claire Walsh and Evelyn Walsh.
