Spay And Neuter Your Pets

Dear Editor,

I’m writing to express my concern over your promotion of a man who bred his dogs and wound up with 18 puppies.

Dogs, especially pit bulls, die every single day in city shelters (including right here in NYC) and that will never change until people start spaying and neutering their pets and also providing them with lifelong homes. I shudder at the thought of how likely it is that most, if not all, of those puppies will wind up in the NYC shelter system at some point in their lives. A national statistic claims that only 1 in 600 pit bulls have a home for their entire lives.

Please research the pet overpopulation crisis and start using your voice to encourage adoptions, spay/neuter, and support for local animal shelters instead of featuring the people who are perpetuating the problem.
