RAA’s Camp KidsmART’s Color Combo

Thursday, August 5, the Rockaway Artists Alliance presented the camp kidsmART “Color Combo” performance. “The evening was terrific – it demonstrates the very hard work and dedication involved!” said Sophia Skeans, one of many who turned out for the RAA’s camp kidsmART summer camp event. The performance, mixing music and dance, complete with costumes, props and sets, featured campers in three groups – red, blue and yellow – representing “Hand, Mind and Heart.” Presented once in the afternoon and again in the evening on the outdoor RAA Moon Stage, the “Color Combo” drew overflowing crowds of parents, friends and community members.

Later Artists Alliance President Geoff Rawling took the stage to thank all the performers, staff and counselors and especially Education Program Director Christine Mullally and Education Program Coordinator Marina Callaghan for all they had done to make the program a success. To great applause he also announced that thanks to the community’s hard work, letter writing and phone calls, a large portion of kidsmART program funding, previously cut from the City’s budget, would officially be restored.
