Burglar Leaves Print On Toilet

By Nicholas Briano

An ex-con is back behind bars this week after police arrested him in connection with the May burglary of a Bayswater home where he was tracked by a fingerprint left on the toilet, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

Kevin Harris, 43, who has prior arrests for burglary and robbery, allegedly broke into the home near Bay 24 Street and Bayswater Avenue on May 20 during the overnight hours and stole the resident’s cell phone, credit cards and cash.

The homeowner told police that he woke at around 4:30 a.m. to find his belongings missing. A member of the NYPD’s Evidence Collection Team dusted the home for fingerprints and found Harris’ print.

He was arrested on July 21 for second degree burglary, a spokesman for Brown said. Harris is being held without bail.
