St. John’s Episcopal Hospital held its annual Employee Appreciation Day on Wednesday, July 21. More than 1,000 employees enjoyed a festive barbecue on the Hospital grounds. While listening to lively music and sitting under sun umbrellas, everyone enjoyed barbecued chicken, burgers of all kinds, with all the fixings, topped off with Dove ice cream bars and ices. As a token of appreciation from the Hospital for their dedication and hard work toward achieving the goals of raising quality and service, everyone received pedometers to help create a healthier workplace.

The Hospital employs more than 1,300 people, making it one of the largest employers in the Rockaways. An accredited, notfor profit teaching institution, it has 257 beds offering medical and surgical services and is the sole provider of inpatient obstetrics and psychiatry in the Rockaways.
