Spano was recognized for “Two good arrests [in June],” said Captain Michael Lipetri, left, the precinct’s commander. On June 9, Spano took part in apprehending a suspect in the car break-ins that have been taking place in the area from Beach 9 Street and Beach Channel Drive to the city line. In the early morning hours of June 25, Spano pursued by foot and arrested one of four individuals stopped by police in an area that has seen a lot of violence recently. A loaded firearm was also recovered.
