Boneparth Family Donates To LWA
With an historic display of philanthropy, Peter and Heather Boneparth have announced that they will donate $1,000,000 to Lawrence Woodmere Academy as it prepares to launch a Centennial Campaign in the next few months. This is the single largest gift in the history of the school, and comes as they prepare to celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2012.
Board President Peter Boneparth is a graduate of Woodmere Academy, Class of 1976. He and his wife, Heather, have been very active in the school for many years. This announcement demonstrates the depth of support and commitment they have to the success of our school and is intended to inspire support for the upcoming campaign, the details of which will soon be announced.
The Boneparth’s motivation is very straightforward. As Peter described: “LWA’s culture of individualized attention in a diverse and thriving community supports a steady flow of talented, articulate and inspiring graduates. We want to ensure that the school will continue to serve future generations of students the same way that it has over the past 100 years. It is our privilege to support the school with this gift.”
Heather adds that she is proud to support LWA’s faculty: “This faculty is dedicated to maximizing each student’s academic potential and providing the important values necessary to lead a responsible adult life. They help our students learn the importance of scholarship. They help them to fully develop their character and teach the value of service and respect within their school community and beyond. I am proud of our graduates and confident that they will continue the impressive legacy defined by our many successful alumni.”
Headmaster Alan Bernstein underscores the significance of this gift to the school’s future: “I am feeling gratitude and appreciation for this tremendous gesture of support that the Boneparth family has provided. Clearly, we are positioning ourselves for an outstanding celebration of our first 100 years, and we are inspired for the success of our next 100 years. This is truly a remarkable moment and I am privileged to be a part of it.”
