Interior Secretary Ken Salazar came to Broad Channel on Monday morning at the invitation of Congressmen Anthony Weiner and Gregory Meeks.
Salazar toured the Wildlife Sanctuary, joining the congressmen, other Gateway National Park officials and several reporters on a walk to Osprey Point.
Salazar thanked Weiner for all his support and spoke with a number of summer interns and local residents.
Salazar asked the interns about their experiences in the park.
