JASA Roy Reuther Hosts Children From PS 215

Intergenerational activities are always rewarding for both the young people and the senior citizens they often entertain.

Last week, the members of the JASA Roy Reuther Senior Center shared a morning activity with the children from PS 215 on Collier Avenue in Far Rockaway.

The students, who are participating in a summer camp program, walked to the JASA senior center on Beach 8 Street with their director, Rebecca Benitez.

The children interviewed several of the seniors, recited poems and sang a song.

After this intergenerational program, the students enjoyed a cool cup of juice before they walked back to their school, but they promised to come back and visit the senior center again soon.
