JASA Cultural Arts Institute Heats Up

Members of the JASA Roy Reuther Senior Center enjoyed a musical performance on Wednesday evening, July 14, when they were privileged to have Gabriel and Guillermo Ariza, Spanish guitarists, dazzle them with music for an hour.

The brothers perform under the name “Gimagua” which means twins (which they in fact are).

The senior center participants were up in their seats doing the Cha Cha, Rumba, and many other dances in which you feel the music. The musicians played authentic Flamenco and Rumba music from South America. The audience of 85 people was shouting for more and they were rewarded with an encore.

“It was our best Cultural Arts Institute performance to date,” said a center spokesperson. “We at Roy Reuther Senior Center at 711 Seagirt Avenue in Far Rockaway look forward to many more evenings like this one.”
