O'Donnell Case Declared A Suicide
More than a month after her tragic fall from a twelfth-story apartment, the city’s chief medical examiner has officially declared the death of Deidre O’Donnell a suicide.
After posting several accounts of bullying and remorse on her Facebook page, O’Donnell, fell 12 stories out of her Beach 88 Street apartment window at about 7 a.m. on June 5.
“She died from blunt impact trauma to her head and torso,” said a spokesperson for the city’s chief medical examiner. “The manner of death was suicide.”
The police report, issued days after her death, said that her mother, Diane O’Donnell, and her boyfriend, Maurice Maisonet, found her lying face up outside of the apartment house and called police.
A spokesperson for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner for Public Information, said that EMTs declared her dead on the scene at 7:35 a.m.
A spokesperson for the medical examiner declined to say whether or not drugs or alcohol played any part in O’Donnell’s death.
