Election Races Shaping Up, Petitioning Ends July 22

With only a week to go before all petitions are due in to the Board of Elections, the races for the state and federal officeholders who represent Rockaway and Broad Channel are heating up. As of this week, none of the incumbents is getting a free ride this year. Each of them is opposed, either by a Republican or by a Democratic challenger in a primary.
