Memorial Service Set For Fallen Soldier
Assemblywoman Audrey I. Pheffer has announced the memorial service of Sergeant Ronald Alan Kubik.
Sergeant Kubik was killed April 23, 2010 during combat operations by Company D, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, in eastern Afghanistan’s Logar province.
He is survived by his father Ronald A. Kubik and his wife Rose, his mother Eileen M. Kubik, his sisters, Amy and Mary, step brother Fred, and grandmother Bridget Daly.
The service will be held at the JASA Rockaway Park Senior Center located at 106-20 Shorefront Parkway on July 14, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
All are welcome to attend but are asked to arrive on time to avoid disturbing the Memorial Service proceedings.
Queens County Commander Mike Honan Jr. Past Commander of the Queens County American Legion will preside over the Memorial Service. Representatives from the Army Reserve will direct the Color Guard. The ceremony will be followed by a reception in remembrance of Sgt. Kubik.
“On April 23, our longtime friend and community member Birdie Daly lost her beloved grandson Ronald. I encourage everyone to join us in paying our respect to Ronald’s ultimate sacrifice,” said Assemblywoman Pheffer.
