Rockaway Walks Starts Summer Season
The free walking program called Rockaway Walks kicked off its summer season on Saturday, June 26 at 8 a.m. on the boardwalk at O’Donohue Park and Beach 11 Street in Far Rockaway. More than 50 walkers came out to start their summer exercise led by Steven McCartney. While some were having their blood pressure taken and enjoying watermelon, Councilman James Sanders Jr. thanked everyone for coming out and choosing to get fit and lead healthier lifestyles. Everyone is invited to join the walking program, which meets Saturdays through August 28 at 8 a.m.
