Special Benefit Heart Luncheon Held
Phyllis Epstein, of Kings Point, and her sister Carole Orlow, hosted the luncheon. They were both raised in Belle Harbor and are friends of Cohen’s daughters, Susan Meshover and Patti Schackett.
Epstein provided transportation, by Coach Transportation, to the catered gourmet luncheon, which was held in her home.
At the luncheon, Selma Frank spoke of Cohen’s many years of devotion to the Hadassah Medical Organization and the achievements that were accomplished through her efforts.
Guest speaker Mashid Kashanian, of Jewish Persian decent, was in attendance to provide insight into the history of Persia (Iran). The insight she provided, some of which came first hand as she herself escaped from Iran, was very informative; especially about the largest migration to this country of Jewish Persian population, to Great Neck, Long Island.
Every guest in attendance received a Pashmina wrap and other gifts to remember Fay Cohen, known as the “the little lady with the big heart,” including many photos from events she chaired.
It apeared only fitting that a woman who dedicated her life to many charitable causes would have a day set aside to remember her.
