Dreaming of a romantic beachside wedding? Bayhouse specializes in on-premises and offpremises catering, with prices for hot and cold buffets starting at $13.50 per person. They have hosted hundreds of private affairs from baby showers, engagement and birthday parties, to wedding ceremonies conducted right on the beach. It is the peninsula’s only casual, relaxed, bar-restaurant with its own sandy beach—The Bayhouse of Breezy Point. Operating since summer, 2001 under the management of Sean Sheridan, Bayhouse offers diners panoramic views of the Brooklyn skyline, with icons like the Coney Island parachute drop and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge just across the water. Right, the daily menu at Bayhouse features traditional bar favorites—Maryland crab cakes, fried calamari, buffalo wings, shrimp cocktail, beer-battered shrimp, and burgers. The dinner choices expand to a delicious range of pastas, boneless rib-eye steaks, stuffed sole, mahi-mahi, salmon, and tenderloin of beef with spinach and portabella mushrooms. Special values offered during the week include Sunday family dinners for $7, a kids menu for $6, and happy hour every Friday from 4-7 p.m., featuring $2 bottled beers. Bayhouse is located at 500 Bayside Drive in Breezy Point. Just stop at the visitor’s booth near the entrance to the co-op for a turnstile token, and make an immediate right turn. Reservations are suggested. For more information, call 718-318-9660, e-mail seanatbayhouse@ aol.com, or visit the restaurant’s Facebook page or webpage, at www.bayhousebreezypoint.com.
