Pepper Steppers Finish Second In Double Dutch Championships

Stan’s Pepper Steppers. Stan’s Pepper Steppers. Stan’s Pepper Steppers, Rockaway’s top Double Dutch group, gave a great effort recently in the 37th Annual American Double Dutch League World Invitational Championships that took place in Sumter, South Carolina from June 18-19.

The Pepper Steppers, who are coached by Stan Brown, would finish second overall to the champions from the Japan Double Dutch group.

In the college/open team competition, the Pepper Steppers group of Laa’Neisha Jones, Peter Alvarez, Katherine Rocha, Alaisyia Woodard and Tyesha Arnette finished second overall.

Jasmine Hamlet, Nadine Harrison and Alaina Reynolds competed for the Pepper Steppers, who finished third overall in the high school competition.

The eighth-grade Pepper Steppers, which consists of Shamera Davis, Imani Clairsaint, Tiffany Duarte and Akeela Williams, won second place in the eighthgrade category.

The Pepper Steppers would like to express their thanks to the Far Rockaway community and to those who helped with contributions and donations for their travels.

Stan Brown said that people’s kindness and generosity has helped to support the success that the team has had for the last 30 years.
