Par Tee Golf News: Heffernan Wins Top Honors

By Peg Ansbro

Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle, followed by a good bottle of beer!

Nancy Heffernan wins top honors again this week with her score of 63. Also in the sixties were Doris Neimeth with 66 and Barbara Caramelli finished with 69.

In the seventies were: Pat Barry and Dolores McAleer (70), Alice Mateos and Peg Ansbro (71), Pam Armour (73), Lorraine Pierson (74), Marilyn Danese (75), Pat Kelly (76), Marge Lentnek (78) and Kay Miller (79). Chip-in birdies belong to Pam Armour and Alice Mateos.

Birdies are credited to Pat Kelly, Nancy Heffernan, Alice Mateos and Barbara Caramelli finished with two birdies. Chip-ins were scored by Kate Hanratty, Lorraine Pierson and Betty Monahan. Nearest to the pin on #18 was Dolores McAleer and on #10 the winner was Nancy Heffernan. The Peggy Wheeler 50/50 was won by Mary Powers.

Welcome to Marge Lentnek and Eileen Hurson who have joined the Par Tees!! Co-Chairladies Betty Monahan and Marilyn Higgins want to remind you of the Guys and Dolls tournament which will be held on July 22!

Four married guys go golfing on Sunday. During the third hole the following conversation ensues:

First Guy: “Man, you have no idea what I had to do to be able to come out golfing this weekend. I had to promise my wife that I will paint every room in the house next weekend.”

Second Guy: “That’s nothing, I had to promise my wife that I will build her a new deck for the pool.”

Third Guy: “Man you both have it easy! I had to promise my wife that I will remodel the kitchen for her.”

They continue to play the hole when they realized that the fourth guy has not said a word. So they ask him, “You haven’t said anything about what you had to do to be able to come golfing this weekend. What’s the deal?”

Fourth Guy: “I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s just say that the foundation for the new house is being poured next Tuesday.”

God Bless! Have a great week!
