Betty Barnes, 73, a longtime Rockaway resident, died June 10.

Barnes was born on March 16, 1937 in Anniston, Alabama. She worked as a housekeeper.

Barnes was preceded in death by her parents, Tunk Truitt and Dora Truitt and B.J.

She is survived by her children, Clifford, Diann and Martin; grandchildren, Martin Jr., Jessica and Gabriel Farrell; closest friends, Lillian, Sandra, Lula, Vanettia, Beverly, Dr. Paul and Pamela Farrell, Marie and Richard Warsaw and Diane and John.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Friendship Chapel, Inwood, New York. Disposition took place at St. Michael’s Crematory, East Elmhurst, New York.
