‘Friends - Senior To Senior’ Prom
It is the season of high school proms throughout the country and a group of senior teens from Beach Channel High School recently brought a prom into the lives of the senior registrants at the Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) program at Peninsula Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation.
Under the supervision of ADHC Director Maryellen Towey, RN, Xiomara Encarnacion, Recreation Therapy Assistant, Adult Day Health Care staff and Transition Linkage Coordinator, Cherry-Ann Ferguson and Assistant Principal LaVern Eady from Beach Channel High School, the teens participated in a wonderful and exciting event – complete with gowns, food, decorations and dancing.
The theme of the event was “Friends - Senior to Senior.” To memorialize the theme, the teens created and presented a beautiful handmade quilt which was presented to the ADHC program.
The quilt will be hung in the ADHC Center as a daily reminder of the good times that were had that day and those coming in the future.
The music provided by the DJ, precipitated enthusiastic participation and lively interaction between senior students and senior registrants.
